DB2 Operations - Objectives

On successful completion of this course, the student, with the aid of the appropriate reference materials, should be able to:

  1. Define the basic constructs and concepts of relational databases
  2. Describe the fundamental components of DB2
  3. Code basic SQL statements to access DB2 tables
  4. Execute SQL statements using SPUFI under QMF
  5. Create Application Plans using BIND under DB2I and in batch
  6. Authorize users to access DB2 applications
  7. Execute programs using DB2 in batch
  8. Diagnose Authorization and Synchronization errors in DB2 application use
  9. Issue appropriate DB2 command
  10. Describe the DB2 address spaces and interfaces
  11. Execute DB2 utilities, including COPY, MERGECOPY, RECOVER, REORG, and RUNSTATS.
