DB2 Application Programming - Objectives

On successful completion of this course, the student, with the aid of the appropriate reference materials, should be able to:

  1. Define the basic constructs and concepts of relational databases
  2. Describe the fundamental components of DB2
  3. Code SQL statements to access and update DB2 tables
  4. Execute SQL statements using SPUFI under DB2I
  5. Create Application Plans using BIND under DB2I and in batch
  6. Generate record descriptions and SQL table declarations using DCLGEN under DB2I
  7. Code, test, and execute application programs that use embedded SQL statements to access DB2 databases.
