This page is intended to be a place for us to inform interested customers about our future intentions and for you to make suggestions for new courses or curricula (or anything else about our organization).
Since my web-writing skills are still elementary,
I have to resort to a somewhat clumsy mechanism to accept comments and
suggestions. If you want to contribute a thought or suggestion, click on the
envelope, please;
this will bring up an email form. Specify the Subject as Comments and
then Send your comment. I'll echo any comments back onto this page.
Futures
First, we intend to maintain our dedication to the IBM
mainframe
as
long as there is a market to teach in. This means we'll continue to enhance and
expand our offerings in languages (CLIST, REXX, Assembler, COBOL, PL/I, C,
C++,Java), data base (DB2), and the supporting environment (TSO, ISPF, Dialog
Manager, Language Environment, CICS, and IMS).
Second, we will focus on new areas of mainframe as they prove viable and there is an interest. For example, we are currently developing or exploring these courses:
UNIX on the Mainframe - a curriculum for applications programmers writing / maintaining / debugging applications that use UNIX System Services on z/OS, including running Web applications on z/OS and the DB2 back end for those applications; we have already delivered a half dozen courses along these line and expect more in the coming months.
We believe strongly in using the people and tools you already have: upgrade people skills to the latest versions and uses. Your experienced COBOL, PL/I, and Assembler programmers can use these skills to maintain and enhance your presence on the Internet and the Web. If you are running z/OS, you already have, included, UNIX on the mainframe and an HTTP server: host your web presence on your mainframe.
Discussions
At this point, we will echo any comments or suggestions made via email, along with our responses. We are vitally concerned that we meet our clients needs, in so far as they are in our capabilties. We also want to know what new capabilities we should be looking at developing.
So...
-based on discussions with clients and prospects, we are introducing a new training option called Remote Contact Training that will provide student-directed instructor-assisted self study with hands on labs. Check the site for more details.
