Introduction to Application Programming (z/OS) - Course Objectives
On successful completion of this class, the student should
be able to:
- Describe the major issues in program design
- Describe inputs and outputs for a program, down to the field level
- Design program logic for basic programs
- Describe the steps necessary to complete the process to code, compile, link,
and test a program
- Describe these fundamental data types of IBM
mainframe machines: character, packed decimal, binary
- Convert numbers between binary and decimal and hexadecimal
- Perform basic arithmetic with binary and hexadecimal numbers.
