The course focuses on learning about the basic IMS facilities--the IMS Database System and the IMS Transaction Manager. The student will explore how these facilities work together and how application programs interact with them in today's complex Enterprise Systems. 

Audience

System users and developers who want a basic understanding of the IMS Database and IMS Transaction Manager products and data processing people who will be working with an IMS System (DB, DB/DC, DBCTL).

Prerequisites

Ability to describe the fundamentals of data processing, including the function of operating systems, access methods and job control language. These skills can be obtained from on-the-job experience or through courses we offer.
