IMS (Information Management System) is one of the most used transaction processing systems for the IBM Mainframe environment. It provides facilities for developing on-line application programs that communicate between end users and business data bases.

IMS includes facilities for accessing DB2 data bases, IMS data bases, and VSAM files, as well as other data repositories. Its strongest features include the ability to support a large number of users while consuming a modest amount of system resources.

Our IMS systems programming courses focus on the installation, implementation, and maintenance process for modern IMS systems.

The course IMS Fundamentals provides participants with a solid introduction to the essential features of the IMS product, to provide a common vocabulary and understanding of how IMS works and how it fits in to the mainframe computing world.

IMS DB Fundamentals focuses on the Database side of IMS: the structure and design and implementation process as well as the capabilities and features of the IMS database.

The course Introduction to IMS Database Recovery Control covers alternatives and procedures in backing up and recovering IMS databses, in order to provide maximum protection and ease of recovery from both internal and external failures.

IMS System Programming explores the details needed to install, monitor, and maintain an IMS system for use by an installation.

IMS OTMA and IMS Connect focus on the two primary connectivity techniques used by IMS to connect to the external world.

Our IMS course authors have asked that we not include the outlines for the IMS courses on the web site. If you are interested in seeing the detailed course objectives or course outlines, please feel free to call or email us.

Our IMS courses are not available for licensing nor for RCT.
