Training Roadshow

We have been delivering top-quality IBM mainframe application programmer training for over 30 years.

Over that time we have evolved a few strongly-held beliefs for this business:

1. The best (most effective) training is face to face, live, interactive, instructor-led training
2. The best training involves hands on lab opportunities in order to provide positive, meaningful experience with languages, products, and technologies
3. The best training includes low instructor-student ratios, around 24 or less
4. The best training materials are clear, carefully developed, complete (for later reference), and indexed (for ease of use)

These principles have stood us in good stead for over 3 decades of work.

But today's world is different. The reality is, few companies can or will provide this kind of training, for a variety of reasons:

• Time; installations are down-sized, out-sourced, lean and mean; it is hard to spare anyone the time for training
• Cost; training budgets have been slashed and do not seem poised to rise; even though many managers acknowledge the need for training, and its benefits, many cannot get funding
• Security; today, few companies allow non-employees on site for consortium classes

 

We have been providing alternatives such as our Remote Contract Training, but we feel we need to offer more opportunities for instructor-led, face-to-face, immediate interaction types of training, so we have developed the z/OS Training Roadshow.

The important elements are these:

• We offer non-introductory courses (using our standard, high-quality course materials) for this program
• We omit all labs
• We omit lecturing on topics that are included in the materials for completeness but that may be of limited interest
• We hold classes in cities in public locations such as hotels, conference centers, universities, open to the public; maximum class size is limited only by seating space
• We price per-student instead of per-class, with a lower per-student price and, usually, a shorter class duration, to net significant cost savings per student per course

 

To summarize, the roadshow provides training that is:

• Short duration
• Instructor-led
• High quality
• At a savings of 30%-70% from our regular consortium or RCT prices per-student / per-class
  

If you have enough interest and 14 or more students, you can schedule a roadshow to come to your company

• Provide a room for training that seats everyone in classroom style but does not need terminals or computers
• Get the same high-speed, high-quality training in-house as our public offerings.
