How current are these materials?
The content of these materials is current with software
generally available as of August, 2013. In particular:
- Our courseware is current up through z/OS 1.13, COBOL 4.2, PL/I 4.2,
DB2 V10, and the C/C++, DFSORT, Assembler and other products we teach that are
current with z/OS 1.13
- Many shops will not be going to z/OS 2.1 or to a later DB2, COBOL, or
PL/I for a while
- Even then, most of our course content remains valid under the later releases
- We have created a short summary of significant changes to
Enterprise COBOL introduced with Version 5.1; we have included this
summary with each of our COBOL courses
- We have created a short summary of significant changes to
ISPF in z/OS V2.1; we have included this summary the following courses:
A633, A634, A635, A810
It sounds like your authors will not be updating the course materials,
is that right?
That's true. However, the following options are viable:
- You can supplement the materials with handouts you produce
to address changes
- The materials are non-password protected PDFs, so you can
edit, insert, and delete pages (with the necessary software)
- For an additional fee, we can provide you with the original
content (which is in Ventura Publisher V10 format)
After all, this is how we can afford to offer the materials at 90% off.
