Kyoto as we see it

Kyoto is a past capital of Japan, and probably the most beautiful city in Japan.

Hotel:

We will be staying at the Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo. Near a variety of interesting sites, this modern hotel is a two minute walk from Kyoto's JR station.

Some things to do in Kyoto

Here is a list of suggested sites to see / things to do in Kyoto. Feel free to suggest additions. When we are in Kyoto, this will be our first source in deciding what we'd like to do next. Items marked with a red asterisk (*) are among the World Heritage Sites in Japan.

• * See the spectacular views in Kyoto from Kiyomizu-dera

• * Visit the Kyoto imperial palace
• * Meditate in the famous stone garden called Ryoan-ji
• Wander the streets of the Gion district, maybe take in a show at Gion corner
• Maybe attend a Miyako Odori show
• Stroll down the mysterious bamboo groves of Sagano
