and in response to numerous requests,
The Trainer's Friend has decided to create and sell customized
z/OS Application Developer Toolkits
A Toolkit provides:
- A clean, isolated environment for developing and testing new z/OS applications, and
even updating existing z/OS application programs
- JCL to prepare (Assemble or compile, program bind (link edit), and so on)
programs
- A place to get preliminary work done before moving code to some formal application development environment
- Working samples that demonstrate how to use services and features you want to use
Each Toolkit includes:
- Complete, working sample programs in Assembler, COBOL, C, and PL/I
- JCL to prepare (Assemble or compile, program bind (link edit), and so on)
the sample programs
- JCL and sample data to test the sample programs
- Sample code that can be used as starter code or simply as examples
- A few useful subroutines
- An Installation Guide for installing and verifying the Toolkit installation,
and a User's Guide with instructions on use of the Toolkit
Each Toolkit comes in two versions:
- A Personal Edition: tailored for a specific TSO userid
- A Team Edition: tailored for a team with a common set of compilers and system attributes
plus a generalized set of scripts to dynamically tailor personal versions for any number of team members
