- z/OS UNIX file of type binary, text, or record ==> sequential file
- z/OS UNIX file of type binary, text, or record ==> member of a PDS
- Convert Fixed length records -> Variable length records
- Convert Fixed length records -> z/OS UNIX style records
- Convert Variable length records -> Fixed length records
- Convert Variable length records -> z/OS UNIX style records
- z/OS UNIX file of type binary -> z/OS UNIX file of type text or record
- z/OS UNIX file of type record -> z/OS UNIX file of type text or binary
- z/OS UNIX file of type text -> z/OS UNIX file of type binary or record
- z/OS UNIX file of type text to a z/OS UNIX file of type text with a different
record delimiter
- Lengthen the records in the new file (pad with spaces or user-chosen fill character)
- Shorten the records in the new file (truncate)
- EBCDIC text -> ASCII text
