Coming events / activities

 

Thursday January 12 6:00-8:00 p.m.: DSCI Annual meeting and awards party at The Palm restaurant in the Westin Hotel, 1672 Lawerence St. in downtown Denver. Complimentary valet parking. Celebrate 2016 and kick off 2017, videos, entertainment, Volunteer of the Year Awards. $60 members, $85 non-members. Register and pre-pay here.

February 7: Setsubun (Spring kick off) meal, 6:00-8:00; location: Sonoda's

It's time to usher in happiness and good luck for the new year and get those bad spirits to leave!
The Denver-Takayama Sister City Committee invites you to a Celebration of Setsubun 2017!

When: February 7, (Tuesday) at 6:00 PM.

Where: Sonoda's Japanese Restaurant
             3108 S. Parker Road
             303-337-3800

What: A delicious, traditional Japanese set dinner menu; fun, frivolity; bean throwing ritual

    Prices are very reasonable:
  • Adult (20 and older) - $32 for members of DSCI, $37 for non-members
  • Teen (13-19) - $22 for members, $27 for non-members
  • Child (4-12) - $10 for members, $13 for non-members
  • Toddler / infant (0-3) - free

This includes tax and tip, but non-tea drinks are extra. There is always an amazing spread of food!

Seating is limited so Pre-Register for this event by 02/3 by going ==> here <== where you can register and pay for the event using the Pay Pal formsite,
or contact DSCI during office hours at 303-832-1336 if you need help with registration/payment.

Last year we had a great time chasing away those devilish spirits, so come join the fun this year!

Uta Gassen singing competition at the Denver Tri-State Budhhist Temple; starts at noon; lunch available for a fee. More details soon.

"Shock-Wave" - exhibition at the Denver Art Museum (DAM), exploring the impact of Japanese designers on French (and Western) fashion in the 1980's-1990's. Exhibition is included in general admission. Admission to the DAM is free for children under 18. Details are here (web page).
