      After a while, Minakuchi leads the group in singing 'medeta'; this is a Takayama tradition: after the song is sung, people are expected to get up and visit with the other attendees, making the affair less formal and more personal.

Then Kitty and Steve did a couple of numbers, singing accomanied by dulcimer ...

After showing how a dulcimer sounds, we then present the dulcimer to the Takayam Denver Friendship Association ...       And then, it was over. We walked back to the bus and Osamu drove us back to the Open Heart Pension, where we had to be up early in the morning to catch the 8:00 a.m. bus to Tokyo!
